Brimbank City Council Arts and Cultural Services project. Artist credits: Ashley Ellis Bold Stories, Bold Lives project and exhibition, 2022. This project and exhibition creatively captures the lives of 20 Brimbank locals who have lived bold lives or experienced situations or circumstances that have required them to be bold. Participants will be represented in digital and mixed media portraits, and each will have an accompanying written story. Portraits and stories will be displayed in an exhibition at Bowery Gallery, St Albans Community Centre, as part of the Be BOLD Festival on 8 October 2022.
In September 2011 The City of Whittlesea, in collaboration with Regional Arts Victoria, produced a community art project and festival to celebrate the coming of spring. Funded by VBRA through the Community Recovery Committee, this exhibition included layers that reflected the recent experiences in the community of fire recovery. Called Into the Light, it was held in Whittlesea Township in the cattle shed at the showgrounds in early September and featured a lantern parade by local school children. Image courtesy of Jo Herbig
